How to read EIKI projector model names: the EK prefix for current units and LC for the older Sanyo-platform range, the number for venue class, the letter L for a laser light source and the final resolution letter U, W or X, explained on the EK-600LU.

How to read model names

EK-600LU

Range

EK — current EIKI units, from meeting rooms to large installations. LC — the older generation, much of it built on the Sanyo platform: LC-XB250, LC-XT5, LC-HDT1000. That is why their spare parts are often shared with Sanyo.

The number · venue class

It shows the room the unit is built for. 300–600 — lecture and meeting rooms (EK-500U → 5,100 lm, EK-610U → 6,500 lm). 900 and above — large installations: EK-900LU, EK-1000LU, EK-1300LU. Check exact lumens in the spec sheet.

The letter L · light source

L before the resolution letter means laser: 20,000 hours, up to 30,000 in eco (EK-600LU, EK-50LU, EK-1300LU). No L means a lamp model (EK-500U, EK-610U). The chip can be either 3LCD or DLP — check that separately.

Final letter · resolution

U — WUXGA 1920×1200 · W — WXGA 1280×800 · X — XGA 1024×768. Adjacent numbers are the same machine at another resolution: EK-500U, EK-501W, EK-502X — one series, three chips. The same goes for EK-610U and EK-611W.
