How to read model names
IN2138HD
Prefix
IN is the common prefix of InFocus projectors. INL at the front marks the laser range (INL148, INL2168, INL4128). SP — ScreenPlay, home cinema (SP1080, SP2080HD, SP2234).
Series · class
The first two digits give the series: 11 portable (IN112, IN116) · 12–13 brighter office units (IN126, IN138HD) · 21–31 for lecture rooms (IN2138HD, IN3138HD) · 51–55 installation units with interchangeable optics (IN5148HD, IN5548HD).
Second-to-last digit · generation
Within a series this digit rises with every refresh: IN2124 → IN2134 → IN2138HD. Further along the list means newer electronics and a brighter lamp at the same resolution.
Last digit · resolution
2 — SVGA 800×600 · 4 — XGA 1024×768 · 6 — WXGA 1280×800 · 8 and 9 — Full HD 1920×1080. Examples: IN112, IN114, IN116, IN2124, IN316.
Suffix at the end
HD — Full HD 1920×1080 (IN118HD, IN2138HD) · WU — WUXGA 1920×1200 (IN2139WU) · ST short throw (IN126ST, IN114BBST) · UT ultra short throw (IN2006UT) · SL standard optics on laser models (IN1026SL). Between IN1026SL and IN1026ST only the lens differs.
