How to read Vivitek projector model names: decoding the family (D/H/Qumi), resolution, number, laser light source Z, short-throw optics ST/UST and suffixes, using DU4381Z-ST as an example.

How to read models
DU4381Z-ST
Family · type
D — DLP projector, business and installation line (DS/DH/DW/DX/DU/DK) · H — home cinema · Qumi — pocket LED · NC — NovoProjector for collaboration.
Resolution
Second letter: SSVGA 800×600 · XXGA 1024×768 · WWXGA 1280×800 · HFull HD 1920×1080 · UWUXGA 1920×1200 · K4K UHD 3840×2160.
Number · brightness
The number is the series and model number. In many series the first digits roughly indicate brightness: DU7098Z → ~7,000 lm, DU7295Z → ~7,000 lm. This is not a strict rule — check the exact figure against the specification.
Light source
Z at the end — solid-state laser without a lamp, rated up to 20,000–30,000 hours (DU7099Z, DK5153Z). If there is no Z, it is a lamp version (DH558, DX813).
Projection type and version
ST — short-throw (100″ from ~1 m) · UST — ultra-short-throw (100″ from 44 cm) · N — built-in NovoConnect, wireless presentation (DH3665ZN) · i — interactive (DW771USTi) · -BK / -WH — black / white body · + — enhanced version.
DU4381Z-ST = Vivitek · DLP installation · WUXGA · laser · short-throw
